Truth

We all say we want truth but is that really so?

Because often when we are faced with truth,

We struggle to let go

To let go of our beliefs,

Let our ego rest too

We still fight to have the upper hand,

Even if it’s in spite of you

We all say we can handle truth

But have we really tried

Have we any empathy?

Can we set aside our pride?

Half the time our minds made up

Before you even speak

Because the truth is,

Most times, truth will leave us feeling meek
